In 2015 The Futures Project created the Cardinal Newman Youth Education Scholarship, which sponsors a full tuition scholarship at Cardinal Newman High School.  The four-year scholarship is aimed at providing an educational opportunity to young students that will help them prepare for college.       

 

2015 Recipient - Samra Tekle

 

 

 

Samra is a 2015 graduate of Sonoma Country Day School and 2019 graduate of Cardinal Newman.  Both of her parents immigrated form Eritrea and she has a younger brother who attends Cardinal Newman. 

Samra thrived inside and outside of the classroom at Newman, participating in the Key Club, Class Council and the water polo team. She currently attends Long Beach State University.

Her other interests include theater, art and reading.
